Clouds of thick black smoke are billowing from a large fire at a chemical factory in Sydney’s south-west.

More than 20 fire crews with 100 firefighters have been called to Yulong Close in Moorebank, where fire has engulfed the factory.

Emergency services received a number of calls from bystanders just before 2:00pm, as smoke began streaming from the building.

Aerial footage shows flames leaping from the factory as crews set up hose lines to try to bring the blaze under control.

The factory and adjoining businesses have been evacuated.

Fire and Rescue NSW is advising neighbouring residents to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed.

The area is adjacent to the M5 and traffic delays are expected.

Police and paramedics are also on the scene.

A NSW Ambulance Service spokesperson said it has not had to treat any patients at this stage.

More to come.
