Your role in our future. The Parkville Cancer Clinical Trials Unit (PCCTU) co-ordinates clinical trials across the 3 institutions of the Parkville Medical precinct: the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Royal Women’s Hospital. We are the largest oncology trials unit in Australia and we have exciting and expanding trial portfolios in every tumour stream from First time in Human to Phase 3 trials. Many patients, family members and Health professionals contact us via phone and email daily seeking advice on clinical trials. We are establishing a phone and online Helpline to provide for these enquiries. This position is for the Helpline Co-ordinator. We are looking for an Oncology trained Nurse who will be the backbone of this service. The position is 0.6 EFT, with flexible hours to suit a good work-life balance and is initially for 2 years. The service is part of the wider Communication program for Clinical trials at Peter Maccallum and the position holder will be well supported within the Parkville Cancer Clinical Trial Unit.   • Current division 1 Nursing APHRA registration
  • Oncology and / or haematology experience
  • Approachable, sensitive and professional phone manner
  • Confidence and self reliance
  • Willing to undertake formal Helpline training

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous Helpline or Nurse on Call experience
  • Previous Clinical trials Experience
