A man in the US state of Florida has been arrested on suspicion of tampering with electric scooters in his local neighbourhood.
- The 59 year-old has been charged with criminal mischief, a third degree felony
- Vandalism of more than 140 electric scooters in the City of Fort Lauderdale has occurred there since April this year
- After Williams was arrested, 20 scooters were located nearby with severed brake lines
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department arrested suspect Randall Williams on September 29 after he was captured on CCTV severing brake lines on electric scooters in the south-eastern city.
The 59-year-old has been charged with criminal mischief, a third degree felony.
According to police, vandalism of more than 140 electric scooters has occurred there since April this year.
After Williams was arrested, further investigation revealed a total of 20 scooters were located nearby with severed brake lines.
Police are telling locals to contact the vendor if they find scooters that have been tampered with.
