NT Police Watch Commander Ron Miller said officers came across the scene on Roystonea Avenue late Friday night.
“At about 11 o’clock last night one of our police patrols came across a two-car collision, there were already witnesses at the scene assisting,” said Watch Commander Ron Miller.
The drivers of the two cars — a 34-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man — died at the scene.
“The 34-year-old female driver … was deceased at the scene upon arrival,” Watch Commander Miller said.
“And the driver [of the other car] also then died of his injuries.”

Police allege the car driven by the 20-year-old man was going down the wrong side of the road on Roystonea Avenue and crashed head-on with the woman’s car.
A passenger in the man’s car was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.
“A 21-year-old male was conveyed to hospital with serious injuries but he’s in a stable condition at the hospital,” Watch Commander Miller said.
“Roystonea Avenue is closed near Lambrick Avenue for the crash investigation to occur, and it’ll be closed for a number of hours this morning.”
Police said it was too early to say if there were any contributing factors to the incident and the Major Crash Investigation Unit was looking into the crash.
The NT road toll for 2020 now stands at five.
More to come.
