Production Engineer

What you will be doing You will be responsible for supporting the Mine Operations Superintendents in identifying, assessing and implementing productivity and asset usage improvements as well as assisting with continuous improvement programs for the mining operators. Duties will include:

  • Working with technical experts to optimise mine operations to ensure the design objectives are met.
  • Assisting in the development and execution of continuous improvement programs aimed at implementing selected productivity improvements for mining operators.
  • Developing baseline productivity through field assessment of mine operation performance.
  • Identifying opportunities through field assessments and reporting to Operations Superintendents a required.
  • Providing information to Drill & Blast and Production Planning Engineering as required.
  • Providing mentoring and training to drill and blast operators in drill and blast design.
  • Managing weekly reconciliation of raw materials and bulk explosive consumption.
  • Reviewing blasting records of fired blasts.
  • Managing the drill consumables database, inputting new stock and reconciling on a monthly basis.
  • Managing the crushed material database and reconciling monthly against the survey.

Who you are Your Mine Engineering or relevant degree together with your technical experience in a similar role in a large open cut mining environment is essential. Previous drill and blast engineering, business improvement, contractor management and operations field experience will be key to your success in this role. You will have excellent communication skills with a proven ability to influence, involve and lead a diverse multi functioned group of stakeholders to ensure there is a whole of business focus to our mine operations.
