We have recently been named as the preferred proponent for Western Australia’s $1.6 billion Railcar Program. As part of the project we will design, manufacture and maintain 246 new railcars needed for METRONET projects and the replacement of the A-series trains. We will also deliver 6 DMU railcars to replace the five diesel railcars that operate the twice daily Australind service between Perth and Bunbury. The Railcar Program has been identified as a Strategic Project under the WA Jobs Act 2017, which has additional requirements for local job creation. With a target of 50 per cent local content for the manufacturing of the new trains, this project will bolster our local manufacturing industry and maximise WA jobs. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Supply Chain Manager to join our team. As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring our overall supply chain strategy and in order to maximize efficiency and productivity. Key Responsibilities for this Role Include: Master Scheduling:

  • To understand the project needs / Product Requirements (Part No, Description, Revision Level, Quantities) & Customer Requirements for equipment delivery and installation
  • To understand the Internal Constraints & Process to include process adherence and proactive Change Management compliance

Material Scheduling:

  • Manage Stock Policy and Optimize Inventory Levels in line with project needs and cash flow requirements
  • Calculate and Update Forecasts in line with current project requirements
  • To manage and report upon Material Availability, and aggressively close all missing parts in a timely manner
  • Manage Material Scheduling activities with the project team to include engineering changes
  • Manage Material Scheduling activities through the project life cycle until closure

Procurement

  • Manage Specific Conditions for Vendors and ensure the Product Master Data file in SAP is completely updated

Logistics:

  • Design Supply Chain processes to meet Industrial requirements – To include kitting in line with project installation requirements
  • Define subcontractor’s requirements – Kitting, Labelling, Packaging Data Sheets, Bar Coding in line with the Supply Chain Manual for suppliers
  • Define Vendors’ requirements regarding logistics – Incoterms, Paperwork, HSN Coding, Online material tracking, Packaging Data Sheet approval
  • Define warehouse layouts, its internal flows and storage policies
  • Define line installation feeding requirements along with the kitting plan and warehouse team
  • Define Material Handling Instructions for warehouse and at site

Management:

  • Monthly Reporting of KPI Dashboard to including improvement action plan

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required Includes:

  • Degree in Engineering / Supply Chain Discipline
  • Experience in Rail is preferable
  • 5+ years recognized experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Hands on experience with supply chain management software (such as SAP MM)
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player & good time-management skills
