About the role Mater Private Hospital Brisbane is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join the Acute Medical team on a full time, 12 month fixed term contract (maternity leave). Mater Private Hospital Brisbane (MPHB) is an outstanding healthcare provider consisting of 323 patient beds, 10 operating theatres and a 24 hour private emergency service, offering over 35 clinical services in addition to a range of supporting non-clinical services for patients and visitors. The Acute Medical Unit is a large multifaceted service incorporating all aspects of the internal care continuum for Medical patients from the emergency department through to discharge from hospital. Salary range: $33.73 – $43.34 (Registered Nurse Level 1) per hour plus superannuation What you’ll be doing You will become an integral part of the team that is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those you care for, while making a positive contribution to the overall standard of care delivered by the unit. You will join a team of highly skilled multidisciplinary professionals, and your enthusiasm and dedication for nursing will be highly valued within a supportive and professional environment. About you We are searching for a nurse with extensive Acute Care experience to seamlessly join the team and hit-the-ground-running, continuing your nursing career and providing exceptional care from day one. As such, you will possess:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • At least 2 years recent experience within an acute medical setting (essential)
  • High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
  • The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment
  • Previous respiratory nursing experience will be very highly regarded
